Endocrinology in pregnancy
Diabetes, thyroid problems and other hormonal conditions may already be present before pregnancy or appear for the first time during it. With close follow-up, it is possible to go through this stage with greater peace of mind and to reduce the risks for mother and baby. Whenever possible, it is best to plan the pregnancy in advance. I look after pregnant women together with the team caring for the pregnancy, adjusting treatment at each stage.

Menopause
The menopause is a natural stage in a woman’s life, when the ovaries stop producing hormones. It can bring hot flushes, changes in sleep and mood, or other symptoms that affect daily life, and it is also a good time to look after the health of your bones and heart. In the appointment we talk about your symptoms and look together at the treatment options, hormonal or not, according to your situation.

Ovaries, hormones and fertility
The ovaries produce hormones that are essential for the menstrual cycle and for fertility. Irregular or absent periods, excess hair, persistent acne or difficulty getting pregnant may have a hormonal cause, such as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, formerly PCOS). In the appointment we look for the cause and decide on the most appropriate follow-up, working with gynaecology or reproductive medicine when needed.
